AKC Fast CAT 2021

PCKC is hosting our first AKC Fast CAT tests the weekend of June 19 and 20, 2021, at Elderon Park South, 184490 Wyman Way, Elderon Wisconsin. We will be offering Fun Runs on Friday afternoon/evening but the times for these have not been set.

FAST CAT® – which stands for Coursing Ability Test (FCAT) – is a relatively new sport by AKC. Dogs run one at a time, over a timed 100-yard dash chasing a lure, and get AKC titles based upon points earned. Points are earned based upon a combination of miles per hour and handicap. Handicap is based upon the height of the dog. In addition, there is a ranking nationally of the fastest 20 dogs by breed which is very popular. “It’s over before you know it — and it’s nothing short of awe-inspiring to watch your dog run at top speed, ears back, eyes focused, legs strong. The popularity of FCAT has spread like wildfire. No wonder. According to one AKC official, the FAST CAT® provides a terrific opportunity to introduce new participants to the world of AKC sports as one of the few events where all that is needed to compete is a dog’s natural instincts.”
